Mosquito Lagoon Seatrout and Redfish

Mosquito Lagoon is one of those places where if the fish aren't biting in one spot, move to another one and it could turn on. We were fishing with a good friend, Capt Jon Lulay . Jon was our first camera boat driver back in the beginning, so it was about time to put him in front of the camera. Jon has become one of the top sight fishing guides for trout in Mosquito Lagoon. He wanted to start in the southern part of the Lagoon where he had caught fish the day before. Unfortunately, the wind had other plans. It was tough to see anything or sight cast to fish for that matter. We caught a small redfish but the conditions weren't improving. I suggested we move North to one of my secret spots, and it payed off big. As we were coming into the flat, I saw a large shadow off to my right. If this was a trout, it was a mogan. Grand Slam - Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit

Conch Tales Part 2 is the most epic day of flats fishing we've ever had! Capt Blair Wiggins heads out from Key West harbor with Capt Brandon Cyr in search of a "Grand Slam". Catching a tarpon, bonefish and permit all in one day is a difficult tasks not on television, but we had the cameras rolling and captured one of our best episodes ever. Up first was the tarpon, the silver king is one of the toughest fish to get to the boat. After Capt Blair got one to the boat, it was time to pole the flats in search of the grey ghost - the bonefish. Capt Cyr spotted one immediately, and the fight was on. What a drag screamer! If you are lucky enough to land one of the fastest fish on the flats, to get the slam you need to catch a permit. They have the biggest eyeballs on the flats and are very wary fish. Fishing Winter Bites

Fishing in the winter can be tough. Mother nature is unpredictable when you're trying to shoot a TV show. This episode is similar to our "Bits & Bites" episodes. Sometime we don't catch enough fish to make an episode, so instead of leaving the footage out, Producerman creates a compilation episode. This episode is just that. A compilation of wintertime fishing segments in an episode we're calling "Winter Bites". The episode starts with grouper fishing in Homosassa with Capt Chris Wilkins, backcountry snook fishing in Marco Island, and ends with sheepshead fishing in New Smyrna Beach. Marco Island Florida Fishing Inshore Slam

This week's episode took us to Marco Island, Florida to fish with Capt Chris Broome fishing for an inshore slam. Capt Chris was confident he could put us on one of the most difficult feats in fishing - catching a trout, snook, redfish and tarpon all in the same day. What makes it more difficult is when we bring two boats, 2 camera guys, my son and another person to run the camera boat. It was a short ride to our first spot to target snook and redfish. We caught each of these 2 species, so the next species to catch was the most difficult - the tarpon. We set the Minn Kota iPilot on spot lock to keep us in the current and casted out our live baits up current and hoped for a tarpon. The fishing gods were looking down on us that day as we hooked and boated a nice sized tarpon. We headed out to the beach to catch a speckled seatrout and got it done.
